End of the Year Activities

June 8, 2013

Our last week of school was busy.  We took a field trip to the Los Angeles Zoo.  Before going on our field trip, we made tie dye T-shirts.  I wasn’t going to make them this year, but a student had asked me about them.  I had her sister in my class the previous year.  So, I had a parent volunteer make them with the students.  The students enjoyed wearing them at the zoo and it was easy for me to spot my students quickly.  I was very glad that we made them.  The students also commented that they liked being able to see their classmates from a distance.

The first time I made tie dye T-shirts with my students I was afraid that I would mess it up.  I don’t think that anymore.  No matter what you do, they will look great.  Here are some pictures of the T-shirts before I washed them.

We also made a crystal garden our last week of school.  Next year I would like to do more experiments with my student.  If you have any great experiments, I would love to hear from you.

I have been busy playing around with fonts.  I am trying out this font that I bought from TPT.  It is called “get your bubble on” from Cara Carroll.  What do you think?

Hope you have a relaxing and wonderful summer!
