Mental Math for Second Grade

January 19, 2014

My students will be mentally subtracting 10 and 100 from a given number.  Our math series isn’t aligned with our common core standards so I have to create many things for my class.  Click here for a FREE copy of the standard NBT.8 for second grade.

Thanks. My kiddos struggle with this once the number is no longer on the number grid. This will be great practice!

This will help for me too.

My problem is they have all of these common core strategies but they can't fluently add their basic math facts. Any suggestions?
