Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we have been busy reading stories and making crafts. We read Froggy’s First Kiss and made this adorable craft from First Grade Blue Skies.
My favorite book to read at this time of year is called Heartprints by P.K. Halliman. It is about kindness and every time we do a kind deed, we leave a heartprint. I highly recommend this book!
I usually I put up various samples of animals that are made from hearts such as a lion, dog, and caterpillar and let the students make their own animal. This year we all made the same project.
You can get a few FREE pages from my Daily Practice which I like to use for morning work for my second graders. You need to click on preview to get your free sample pages.
We are beginning our money unit this week in math. Here are some FREE money task cards that I created last year. Click on the money task cards below to get your FREE copy.

Your Valentine Math is so awesome! I LOVE it! You always have such fun ideas, thank you for sharing. I have not yet gotten to making valentine's day goodies with my students…will VERY soon, ha! I am going to find that book you recommend, as I haven't heard of it before. I do love Froggy books however! Have a great week, kathy
