I put together a selection of some of my favorite snowy winter art projects to do with elementary children. At the end of this post, there is a Snowman Math Riddles Freebie for second grade.
Winter Birds Art Project
I love these winter birds by Deep Space Sparkle. The birds were inspired by Lois Ehlert’s book called Snowballs. A template is used for the watercolor birds and black paint is used to make the birch trees. This winter art project is finished by painting snow.
Snowman Fun
Winter is not complete without making a project with snowmen. This is an adorable snowman project by Painted Paper Art. I love the combination of blue, green, purple, and white paint to make the background. This would take several days to make but it would definitely be worth the time. My students love to paint.
Snowflakes using Watercolors and Salt
I love to introduce different art techniques to my students. This winter watercolor resist art project uses salt to make it a winter masterpiece. You can read more about it over at Fun at Home with Kids.
Catching Snowflake
Here is a winter math freebie I created to use with your winter theme. This snowman math riddle includes 2-digit addition and subtraction for second grade.
