I love teaching my students how special the earth is and how we can take care of it. Kids enjoy learning about ways we can take better care of our earth. I am going to share with you some of my favorite Earth Day activities for kids.

This Earth Day freebie is the perfect way to get your students thinking about ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. It includes a short reading passage with comprehension questions. In addition, there is a poster for students to complete about the various ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Students sort the ways they can reduce, reuse, and recycle and then make this headband to celebrate taking care of the Earth.

I love this writing paper that you can put on a bulletin board that show how students can take care of the Earth. This resource also includes a headband.

My Earth Day Promise by The Applicious Teacher
Have your students pledge their promise to take care of the Earth with this writing activity and; then students make the Earth with their handprint and glitter paint. Finally, put this up on your bulletin board for your students to see read.

Videos are a great way to introduce a topic. These videos are kid-friendly and perfect to use in the elementary classroom. In addition, it gives you a minute or two to relax.

Most importantly, everyone needs to do their part in reducing the use of plastic such as using cloth bags instead of plastic bags.

Water Saving Tips and Tricks-Let’s Save the Planet
Everyone needs to help take care of the Earth. Besides recycling trash, we need to conserve water. Plants, animals, and people need water to survive. Only 0.025% of freshwater on the planet is drinkable. Therefore, everyone needs to use less water. This video teaches children how to save water.
